All Kipper Sailing's courses are taught onboard Kipper of London, a classic Victoria 34 Cutter, meticulously prepared and equipped to the highest standards for extended, independent cruising. We turn heads wherever we go with our purposeful, classic looks and beautiful teak decks. Our seamanlike cutter rig includes: a fully-battened mainsail with stack-pack; a roller-furling yankee set from the bowsprit; self-tacking staysail and tri-sail. This means that we have a versatile but easily handled set of sail configurations, allowing us to sail efficiently on all points of sailing in all weather conditions. And, if the wind gods desert us, we have a 40hp Volvo diesel engine and large fuel tanks which will allow us to motor up to 250 miles at 6+ kts. A large spray hood protects us from the wind and waves. A cockpit table and light enable us to sup our pre-dinner drinks and eat in the cockpit, even on darker evenings, provide it isn't too chilly. Onboard comfort is provided through provision of: hot and cold running water to the galley, heads, blown hot-air heating to all cabins and the heads. A diesel generator provides virtually unlimited 240 and 12 volt power, allowing us to run a laptop computer for email ;a microwave oven and to charge electrical devices. The cabin is equipped with an excellent sound system, with input for MP3 players. Cooking is performed on a diesel fired stove, making us gas free, which is a major safety benefit. Of course we have a large refrigerator, enabling us to keep food fresh and, most importantly, keep the white wine and beer chilled. We are equipped with: the latest high-definition, digital radar; a SeaMe active radar-reflector; a massive 12" chart-plotter; HF and VHF radio, Satcom C, Class B (active) AIS, Navtex and weatherfax. Of course, we are also equipped with an extensive library of paper-charts; almanacs, tide-tables and pilot books. All of which come together to facilitate venturing further a field and into more obscure anchorages. An inflatable dinghy enables us to row ashore to explore, BBQ and party. Safety equipment includes: a 6 man life-raft; an EPIRB; flares; lifejackets & harnesses; life-buoys; danbuoy; fire-extinguishers, smoke alarm; storm sails and a comprehensive first-aid kit.
